My manager introduced the book Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath to the team and gave each of us a copy of the book. Since we have to take the strengths assessment on the website, we have to have our own copy of the book because it has the unique access code that we have to use when we register. Well, that’s actually not the real fun in here. The most exciting part here is to know your top 5 themes or talents after taking the assessment. XD
Do you have an opportunity to use your strengths everyday?
Chances are, you don’t. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.
To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book spent more than five years on a bestseller lists and ignited a global conversation, while StrengthsFinder helped million discover their top five talents.
In StrengthsFinder 2.0, Gallup unveils the new and improved version of its popular assessment, language of 34 themes, and much more. While you can read this book in one sitting, you’ll use it as a reference for decades.
That is just a brief description of the book and the assessment. But when you come to read the entirety of the book, and you’re able to discover your talents, you’ll eventually learn more, and I say more about yourself that you are not aware of.
When I took the assessment, and I took it moments when I got my hand in the book, I got the Learner, Input, Individualization, Strategic and Intellection as my top five talents. I was wondering what the hell exactly does these five means? I looked back at the book and flipped the pages for these five and I got goose bumps as I read the description. It’s so me. But there are certain points that I’m not aware that I have or been doing. >w<
